The BRAVE projectʼs peer education theatre production Relationships Shouldnʼt Hurt was recently performed to a large audience of around 80 people in Pontardawe. The show was brilliantly performed by the Class Act Theatre School and excellently portrayed the different types of domestic abuse that young people can become exposed to through their relationships. The audience was a mixture of professionals who work with children and young people exposed to domestic abuse; teachers and other education related professionals; voluntary sector specialists; and young people from various backgrounds along with parents. The powerful 40-minute performance was followed by a question & answer session involving the cast members and director of the show who were happy to answer questions about their own experience and learning through being part of the production. Relationships Shouldnʼt Hurt is now being recorded onto media for distribution to secondary schools, colleges and other agencies working with groups of children and young people who will benefit from education around healthy relationships and domestic abuse.
